Ingredients (serving 2 people)

  • 1 cup boiled rice (~200gm)
  • 2 medium tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 1 large potato (boiled & chopped)
  • 1 small capsicum (finely chopped)
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/3 cup green peas (can use fresh/frozen peas)
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp pav bhaji masala
  • 1/3 tsp each of turmeric powder & garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Recipe

  1. Heat a pan & add oil. Add cumin seeds & let it fry for a few secs.
  2. Add finely chopped onions & fry for 2–3 mins on medium flame.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste on low flame, mix well & cook for another minute.
  4. Add green peas, chopped capsicum & mix well. Let it fry for 2–3 mins on medium flame.
  5. Reduce flame to low; add turmeric & red chilli powder and mix well. Let it cook for a minute.
  6. Add finely chopped tomatoes & mix well. Cover the pan & cook for 3–4 mins.
  7. Now, add boiled potatoes & salt. Mix everything well & cook for 1–2 mins on medium flame.
  8. Add boiled rice & garam masala powder. Cover & cook for 3–4 mins on low flame.
  9. Turn off the flame. Add finely chopped coriander leaves, lemon juice & mix well.

Your Tawa Pulao is ready to be served!
