This Ganesh Chaturthi festival, we made Modak (an Indian sweet made as an offering to Lord Ganesha) at home using 4 basic ingredients — rice flour, coconut, jaggery & ghee.
Stuffing for these delicious modak are made using grated cocunut, ghee and jaggery. A little bit of cardamom powder is also used to enhance the taste.
The dough for the modak is basically rice flour, salt, water & ghee.
Dough & stuffing are then filled into moulds here (there is also another way of making the modak shape by creating pleats using hand) & then those are steamed for 10 mins & your modak are ready to be served.
